The ginkgo tree is a symbol of hope and peace throughout the world. It is the oldest surviving species of trees known to exist, spanning more than 200 million years. Admired for its beauty and strength, the gingko tree has continued to thrive against all odds including a grove that survived the dropping of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Japan. In my series of ginkgo leaf monoprints, my goal is to create the essence of hope in an entangled world with the use of color, line and shapes.
